At February 9th, 10th and 11th the Expo Fruit Logistica (FL) was held in Berlin. The FL is the world’s leading Expo of Fresh Produce. Apart from primary produce there is also a strong focus on fresh convenience, logistics, packaging and production equipment.
The fair was attended by approximately 53,000 visitors from throughout the produce world.
Prime Champ was nominated for the FLIA, the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award.
Out of over 60 entries 10 products and/or product concepts were selected by a professional jury. The FLIA was granted democratically. The FL visitors were asked to vote for one of the nominations to be the final winner.
The Limeburst Fingerlimes from Australia achieved first place. Prime Champ’s Almond mushroom was awarded third place, just after Jamie Oliver’s ‘Grow your own’ concept
The innovation of the almond mushroom (agaricus blazei murrill) is that this special specimen now can be produced daily and fresh with a shelf life which is comparable with the white mushrooms. Historically grown in South American woodland, this variety has been only available in a dried format and is now available in Europe only from Prime Champ. Apart from the beautiful almond taste this mushroom offers the user many beneficial health qualities.
