New recruit brings agricultural and foodservice experience to MorePeople

The latest addition to the expanding team at leading fresh sector recruitment business MorePeople brings a combination of agricultural and foodservice experience to the company. Jagger Cornish-Bowden will be responsible for recruiting for Operational and Food Production roles for a range of customers.

Having grown up on a family farm in South Africa, and been exposed to numerous agricultural industries from a young age, Jagger knew he would eventually follow the same path in his career choice.

He says: “I grew up in a farming family with various farming and agricultural businesses in South Africa. I would say my upbringing has most definitely influenced my career choice, and when the opportunity arose to come and study agriculture in the UK, I jumped at it”.

At the beginning of his professional career, Jagger worked for Wealmoor, an exotic fruit and vegetable importer, as well as various jobs in agriculture including working for a citrus packing co-operative in South Africa and the Department of Agriculture in Kwazulu, Natal.

Prior to joining MorePeople, Jagger spent four years as a Fresh Produce Buyer at Brakes, based at the Pauleys site in Corby. He says: “The experience I gained working at Brakes/Pauleys means that I have a much better understanding of the skills and experience that our clients are looking for, as well as understanding what the candidate’s capabilities are. All this means I am better placed to find the right person for the right job.”

Jagger’s love for the fresh produce industry is evident. He describes it as dynamic and full of innovation and technical achievement with every day presenting a new and exciting challenge.
