Norfolk-based rapeseed oil producer, Larchwood Foods, has produced two rapeseed oil products designed for the foodservice industry. The new products, Mr Hugh’s Professional and Mr Hugh’s Professional – Gourmet will undergo an official launch in September 2011, and will be available in 5, 10 and 20 litre containers.
The ideal culinary companion in the commercial kitchen, Mr Hugh’s Professional has a delicious yet subtle flavour, making it ideal for many different styles of cooking. Mr Hugh’s Professional contains half the saturated fat found in olive oil and ten times the amount of Omega 3, and has been carefully developed by experts to meet the heavy demands of the foodservice industry.
A premium rapeseed oil, Mr Hugh’s Professional – Gourmet is developed with an increased oleic content which offers a particularly high smoke point to make it ideal for roasting, deep frying and wok frying. Mr Hugh’s Professional – Gourmet has a delicate flavour, beautiful amber tone and smooth texture, and is perfect for top grade mayonnaises, salad dressings and gourmet dipping.
Larchwood Foods owner Hugh Mason said: “In recent years, the British public has become increasingly aware of the importance of nutrition, resulting in a greater demand on chefs to provide dishes which are both tasty and healthy. At the same time, caterers need products which are cost-effective, versatile and long-lasting, especially when it comes to the cooking oil they use.
“We wanted to create a range of products which would meet these demands, and the Mr Hugh’s Professional range does exactly that. Both products are rich in Omega 3, 6 and 9, and Vitamin E, and benefit from a long shelf life which makes them very cost-effective. The products are also extremely versatile in the kitchen, and can be used as cold ingredients, release agents and even as replacements for butter in a variety of recipes. With high smoke points, the oils are also perfect for high temperature applications.”
