Tetley’s brew turns red

Tetley, the world’s second largest tea brand, has appointed LPR to deliver an innovative and flexible pallet pool, which will see all Tetley’s annual 200,000 pallet movements taking place on LPR’s distinctive red pallet.

In changing pallet pools, Tetley is benefiting from a reduced administrative burden, with less complex invoicing and all pallet collections, repair and recirculation undertaken by LPR. This outsourced service, known as the one-way-trip, enables Tetley to focus its supply chain team on more important issues.

Tetley also believes that LPR offers the best quality pallet in the pooling marketplace. Terry Naylor, logistics manager at Tata Global Beverages, the company that owns the Tetley brand, said: “Pallet quality is vitally important; retailers are exceptionally stringent about what they will accept and the increase in automated warehousing makes this even more critical. We had to be confident that the pallets we chose would deliver time and time again. LPR’s focus on quality and customer service made it the perfect fit for Tetley.”

LPR will deliver pallets into Tetley’s manufacturing facility in Stockton-On-Tees and undertake the collection from retailer distribution centres across the UK.

Jane Gorick, managing director of LPR UK, adds: “We’re delighted to be working with Tetley; it’s an exciting brand that fits perfectly with our breadth of FMCG customers. Our size enables us to offer a bespoke service that’s able to flex with the individual requirements of a customer. And, who knows, perhaps the next Tetley advertisement will see red pallets on screen rather than blue!”
