Some 40 years after a number of tomato growers relocated from the Home Counties to the Isle of Wight, the operation that they started is now one of the leading companies of its type in Europe.
Wight Salads grew out of the coming together of a number of salad crop producers between 1960 and 1980, setting up in the beautiful Arreton Valley, near Newport on the Isle of Wight. Three years ago, the company was bought by a Portuguese group and so remains a privately owned company.
